I'm a brunette

Yes. I'm a brunette. I'm not sure how long this will last since it was not planned. I decided to try and

save some money and buy a highlighting kit from the grocery store, which I haven't done in about 5 years. It was a 2 in one, dark color first then you add highlights on top (I liked the highlighting tool that came with it, so that's why I got this kit). Well, I didn't want to dye my hair first and then highlight, I just wanted to hightlight my roots. So I did and nothing happened. All it did was accentuate the highlights I already had which then made my roots look even worse. The next morning after doing my hair, I couldn't take my roots anymore and decided to use the dye I already had which was a golden brown. This was about 4 hours before leaving on a family trip to the beach-bad idea. Well, it turned my highlights greenish blue. Ah! I started calling hair salons and found one that could get me in right away. I dropped my kids off at a friends and rushed to the salon. I got home about 45 minutes before my sister-in-law came to pick me up. This was my first hair coloring mess up and I've been highlighting my hair since college, so I guess that's not bad. Sorry no picture of the green hair.

Trucks and More Trucks

So we got a new road the other day. The trucks started coming about 7am. George was so excited. He spent almost the whole day in front of the window, atleast 4 hours. It was so cute. He loves trucks.

Music To My Ears

I wish I played the piano more often, but it always turns into a duet or trio. Which is sweet, but not always as relaxing or fun as it used to be. I'm glad that my boys are exposed to music at a young age, and I hope some day they'll love it as much as I do.

1st Triathlon

We competed in our first triathlon in Pleasanton. It's a little south of Walnut Creek. Chris' parents came and stayed with us in the hotel and watched George and Tommy while we competed. The event started at 7am. We thought we were getting there early at 6:30, but it took us a half hour to get into the parking lot because there were so many other people waiting to park too. But before that, we went to a gas station to pump up Chris' bike tires, and one of his tubes popped. So when we finally got into the park we found the bike station and got a new tube. We didn't know they were doing different heats, nor did we know which heat we were supposed to go in. I heard as I was laying my bike down and other stuff that in a minute the girls' heat for 16-40 year olds is next. I ran over to the water and got in the lake just as they were starting the heat. Then as I was beginning to swim, I heard that the last heat will be for 1st timers. Chris started in that one because his bike wasn't ready any sooner. Well, it all worked out. I was able to keep up with the swimmers in my heat, but everyone on the bike passed me. I was pretty excited though when I was passing a lot of people in spandex during the run. We finished the race and we didn't come in last. It was great. We'd like to do it again, but we need more time to get in shape.

Family reunion in Loa

Here we are in Loa, Utah for a family reunion with my grandparents on my dad's side and his 7 siblings and their kids. Loa is a small town of about 2oo people, but it's where my grandparents met and fell in love. There are 94 people in this family (we know because we each got a t-shirt with our number on the back). Unfortunately everyone wasn't there, but there were probably close to 70 of us there. It was a lot of fun.

Chris got up with George at 6 in the morning and went fishing. Luckily, they caught 2 fish, and George got to real in this big one. Thumbs up!


I realized that I was doing a terrible job at taking pictures, so I just took a picture of our hotel room, not noticing that Chris was in the middle of changing Tommy's diaper. But this is where I spent a lot of time, since Tommy napped twice a day, and so did I.

Family Trip to Utah

We got back from our family vaction a week ago, and we're still catching up on sleep. We drove to Utah and spent a few days with Chris' brother Mark and his family in Provo. George had a great time playing with his 3 girl cousins. He learned how to play 'house' and with babydolls. We went to the toy store today and the first thing he said he wanted to play with was the dolls. I don't mind. It's cute.
