Camping

Chris and George went camping this past weekend. Chris' brother is the cook at girl's camp this week, so he needed to go early for the food to be dropped off. He invited his siblings and kids to come along. They stayed in a lodge with a kitchen and a bathroom, so it wasn't really roughing it but I think Chris thought it was. We're not much into camping. We like the outdoors, but we also like showering and sleeping in a bed. George was so excited to go all week. They went fishing and made smores over the campfire. But George's favorite part was when he and Chris set up a squirrel trap in the lodge and sat there for an hour trying to catch one. Chris said George was giddy and laughing everytime a squirrel came in and ate the crackers he set out. They came back with alot of scrapes and bruises, but they had a good time.

George's Half Birthday Party

We decided to celebrate George's half birthday (June 21st). I love having a reason to eat cake. and the other reason is because his birthday is so close to Christmas that we decided to buy him presents now and not for his real birthday. It was a lot of fun, especially seeing him get so excited when he saw the balloons and presents. We got him a Diego bike because he doesn't know how to ride one even with training wheels yet. He liked putting the breaks on more than actually riding around on it. Then we went to a small amusemnt park in Sacramento. We got him to go on all the rides but the train was the only one he'd go on for a second time. We'll wait a while till we go back. Happy Birthday 3 1/2!
